TikTok is launching new labels for "unverified content."

Many of the videos containing information that can't be validated will have a caution banner on them.

The content creator will be notified their video was flagged, and viewers who try to share it will get another warning of its contents.

TikTok released a statement saying the labels are to help users be mindful about what they share.

The labels' test showed viewers were 24-percent less likely to share videos with the flagged content, and "likes" also dropped seven-percent.

This comes as social media platforms are scrutinized over, enabling the spread of misinformation. The site has had issues lately with "reliability."
